A brief interview.

We give words so much power. It's our primary form of communication as humans. Words make change. The words you speak to a stranger on the street could have a profound impact on the rest of their lives. Words can uplift people or tear them down.

We cherish words so much that we created dictionaries to standardize their spelling, pronunciation, and meanings. As the media evolved and our culture as humans followed suit, we began associating words with objects and events, even if that wasn't their original connotation. Leech used to be synonymous with doctor, but today you wouldn't dare call your doctor a leech, would you? Study the etymology, and you'll find that "awesome" and "awful" have the same roots, but today have a stark contrast.

Evolution in language is inevitable, but I wonder if it's possible to escape that. Is it a tangible goal to reorganize the definition of a word in the dictionary? I ask you today: when again will a murder be a pack of crows?
